2nd Battalion, 8th Marines (USMC), also known as 28, is a tactical battalion within the United States Marine Corps' Infantry. It falls under the command of the 8th Marine Regiment and the 2nd Marine Division. The battalion is part of the II Marine Expeditionary Force, stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.The 28 has a rich history dating back to its formation in World War I, where it saw action during the Battle of Belleau Wood.
